A 40-year old Filipina woman who was an online seller committed suicide earlier today as reported by Mindanao Gold Star Daily. The woman is identified as Evangeline Delapos, a resident of Bugo, Cagayan de Oro City.
In the police report of M/Sgt. Marvin Yacapin, Delapos allegedly live-streamed her committing of suicide on Facebook by tying a nylon cord around her neck and tying the other end of the cord to the ceiling in the kitchen of her rented house at Phase 1, Zone 3, Villa Trinitas in Barangay Bugo.
Yacapin said it was not confirmed though if there were Facebook users who have seen the live streaming. Facebook normally deletes posts that violate “community standards,” including live-streamed suicides.
“Ang iyang cellphone iyang giplastar pagbutang sa banggira sa balay nga iyang gipuy-an ug iyang gi-live sa iyang Facebook account ang iyang pagpakamatay,” Yacapin said.
He said Delapos committed suicide by tying a nylon cord around her neck and tying the other end of the cord to the ceiling in the kitchen of her rented house and shared it to her Facebook via live-streaming.
Yacapin said further that a two-page suicide note which was allegedly written by Delapos was found in the crime scene.
“Ang nasulat sa iyang suicide note (kay) nag-ingon siya nga duna kunoy iyang dako nga problema ug ingon pa siya (nga) sorry,” Yacapin told reporters.
Delapos family and relatives could not believe that Evangeline did that to herself as she was a happy and loving person. Relatively, Yacapin said investigators have already ruled out foul play in Delapos’s death.
Delapos’s brother Joel said he last saw his sister alive early morning yesterday. He said she went out to buy something a store nearby. Thirty minutes later, he found his sister hanging at the kitchen with a suicide note she allegedly wrote.
The police is investigating further on the death of Delapos.
