- Was his decision considered a fruitful one?
A super fan from Japan successfully sold the Blue Eyes White Dragon cards worth $5,000 each. It was previously used by Seto Kaiba who is the main character of the top-grossing manga of all time. The man named @KnightMiyabi on Twitter said that the cards are still in pristine condition.
Konami, the Japanese manufacturer of Yu-gi-oh reportedly made only a thousand copies of the Blue Eyes White Dragon which makes the set exceptionally high. However, the English version of the Blue Eyes White Dragon is not valuable as the Japanese version and it can be sold by just a couple of bucks.
What is Yu-gi-oh?
Yu-gi-oh is one of the popular manga series way back 1996 written by Toshiki Inoue and directed by Hiroyuki Kakudo. A few years later, many people play it in Japan as a trading card game. As of today, there are still many players who collect rare cards like the Black Luster Soldier which roughly cost $2 million and the Armament of Lethal Lords for $9,000 each.
No concrete details
@KnightMiyabi also said on twitter that he would not sell the high-value card lower than 600,000 yen ($5,000). Given the four cards pictured, the value of it is not lower than 2,400,000 yen ($20,000). The money reportedly will be used for his daughter’s education in the future. The father just wants to make sure that his child can enroll in a good school and make sure that they have funds for her college tuition fee.
Is it worth it?
Yes, as the father made a right decision to sell his collectibles for financial needs. Even though it is quite a hard decision, KnightMiyabi needs to do it so that they can survive. However, there is no further news about them. We wish all the best for the two as they continue living with the money they get.
