Just recently, Dubmash Queen and Kapuso star Maine Mendoza, also popularly known as Yaya Dub, gained support from her fellow celebrities after posting her open letter for everyone.
Maine rose to stardom when she began playing the role of Yaya Dub together with Alden Richards, in 2015. After two years, there were good and even harsh and ugly reactions within the AlDub fandom. This is why Maine decided to write an open letter to fans to address the issue and also to clarify the real score between her and her love team, Alden.

In the said post, Maine expressed her gratitude for fans who supported her since day one.
When I was new in the business, you all came to my life and loved me for exactly the way I am. Hindi ko kinailangang magpanggap para mahalin niyo.
She also revealed that she feels misunderstood and invalidated because of how some fans treated her.
I feel like I live in a box. I have not been able to do what I want and say what I feel because every time I try to express my thoughts and feelings, some of you tend to misapprehend and invalidate them in so many ways. Telling me I am not supposed to feel that way because I am ‘rich and famous. I want to be able to do what I want and what makes me happy because I believe that is how life should be. I do not want to compromise my own happiness for other people’s desires. So this time, I am choosing myself.
Maine also took the opportunity to tell everyone that she and Alden are just friends.
We are a love team. Kahit sinong madikit sa amin pinagiisipan at pinagsasalitaan ng hindi maganda. Basta hindi naaayon sa kagustuhan ang mga nakikita, nagagalit. I am pretty sure majority of you are going to turn your backs on me and probably hate on me. Pero sabi nga nila, speak the truth even if your voice shakes.

Celebrities Supporting Her
Even if there are some fans who felt betrayed after Maine revealed the truth, there are also a lot of people who supported her, including her fellow celebrities.
Even if he haven’t met Maine in real life, Edu Manzao showed his support via Twitter.
Never met Maine but having been in the business for over 30 years I have only the highest respect for this lady.
Jake Zyrus also sent multiple tweets to Maine, sharing that he shares the same sentiments as her.
Masakit pero eto ang realidad.
Take a deep breath. Takas ka muna sa mundong magulo at mag-relax ka with people who you love and trust. Take a break.
Maraming nagmamahal sayo. Focus on that.
Kylie Padilla also disagrees with her that she is talentless and said:
I strongly disagree about the opinion of you that you do not have talent. you can make people laugh and make them genuinely happy for the moment that they see you totally yourself. and that alone is a talent.
